With a number of large international airports located within the country of Scotland, there is a massive choice of travel destinations to choose between. Admittedly, though, Scottish airports tend to cater best to charter airlines and related packages; the best scheduled flight options are definitely found in the largest English airports such as Manchester and London Heathrow and Gatwick.
If you are looking at a holiday that would involve Italy Villas, for example, the choice of flight options would be great. In fact, all of the Mediterranean is very well covered through airports such as Glasgow, Prestwick, Edinburgh and Aberdeen Dyce.
It is when you are looking at farther-flung destinations that you might actually encounter a few problems. British Airways has a very limited service from Scotland - mainly only connecting with London. However, there are certain international flag carriers that operate from Scotland, one good example being Emirates. If you do not mind travelling via Dubai, this can open the doors to many worldwide destinations.
There is certainly plenty of scope for improvement where the Scottish airports are concerned. As we have said above, charter packages are readily available from the country, but there is still much of the world that should be better connected with the largest airports in Scotland.
